Viktor being in love with Jayce is literally the only way his arc makes logical sense.

Viktor tries over and over to be seen by Jayce specifically, to be understood, and (from Vik's perspective) Jayce insults him, ignores his will, undermines his autonomy, destroys what he's built... and Viktor still tries. Even after all that, Viktor still offers Jayce the choice of companionship... and Jayce rejects him for the final time. To avoid the pain of it, Viktor deadens his own emotions forever.

This may just be me, but there is not a friend or brother on earth whose rejection would lead me to want to cut off my own emotional range forever - only heartbreak does that.

Last semestre of English I was technically supposed to read Kafka's the trial. I didn't but managed to write a great paper on humour and authoritarianism and The trial and Milan Kundera's Žert as a way of coping as well as resistance but that paper isn't the point.

Anyway seeing discussions about Kafka's Jewish identity and how it explains his writing makes the trial quite relatable especially now.

Like dealing with antisemitism it's like being on trial without knowing why. Endless and constantly changing, forced to play by rules that have no rhyme or reason. The absurdity of the process and accusations would be funny if it weren't for the fact that I could end up dead like Josef K.

i'm sorry nonnie, i'm not exactly the best at answering questions unless i'm giving an example, and that's ... literally what i did. i dont know how else to phrase it.

i'd like to add on that i'm like... incredibly not-neurotypical so unless you're being highly specific about what you want me to define, i'm not ... going to understand <:] I gave you the best response I could think of in that moment because that's what came to mind, but I suppose if you want a more straightfoward answer:

when I say unsavory , in this context , on this blog , I am referring to either 1. people that fit my dni or 2. blogs that are in line with this gimmick that blur the lines between sfw and non-sfw audiences. blogs that are run by those who openly support the k.ink community and alienate their audience and defend themselves because they think it's okay to do the above things. that's what I mean, and that's why I used that example, because it was the reason I made this blog. is that better? /gq

I love the Case of the Two Dead Dragons ep for a lot of reasons, but the scene where they're talking to Twitchy Richie, like when they first start to mess with him is just so... perfect. Like the way Charles steps up and says "Ooh, try it, mate," his crossed arms coming down. And in the following scene when it shows just Richie & Crystal it's like "What's he going to do omg."

Except Crystal tilts her head with the stupid lighter in her face and it's Edwin that goes "Don't mind if I do." And Charles just looks so enamored and Crystal and Edwin are both so pleased with themselves.

I don't know. It's just the way they're working in tandem with each other for once. Not just with one another, but exactly in step. Crystal knew, without a word, that they'd play along. Edwin could've just let Charles do his thing, especially after what he said, after knowing they kissed (even if they broke things off right after). But it's like... Crystal is a part of their team now. He may not be super close to her yet, but they're both bitches /pos that of course this is the moment they fall in step. It's a shared trait that they were using to hurt and annoy each other, but now it's a bonding moment, a crossing of that divide between them.

So of course Charles lets them have their little moment and is so happy to do so. Whether it's queerplatonic or romantic, this is his best mate for 30 years and his new best friend. He knows they'd get along in their own way if they got through it. And here they are.

Perfect sync, not just Charles and Edwin, but Charles, Edwin, and Crystal.

"oooo tumblr is made for communication twitter is just a cesspool of trash and bad opinions" i made more connections on twitter in tf community than i do on tumblr To This Day cuz saying things to people is much easier and very much expected when tumblr has completely different etiquette you losers keep spouting about every other month. i know my experience isnt universal but it really always comes down to navigating your spaces but with tumblr while its easier to navigate them i do find it harder to connect with people in this community.

I think both of these things can be true, but also feeling one other the other is valid too.

Because while you can draw and write for yourself, art (be it writing or drawing) also doesn't exist in a vacuum. There is also community to consider which I think is a big part of art. There's the conversations between art and its audience, between artists, but also between the artists and also the audience which is important. This community and social nature (aka the desire for validation and acknowledgement) is innately contained within art.

So I don't think these things have to be in contrast or competition with each other, but instead these impetuses that propel creation of art exist simultaneously, and I think that they are both valid whether you feel them equally or value one over the other. When you put art out into the world there is your desire as an artist to create, but also your desire to share, to create a conversation, a sense of community, to interact with your audience, and to be acknowledged for your ability, work, and endeavors.

It's a natural feeling and I think innate to art itself, so I think this kind of dichotomy, that creating solely for yourself and receive outside validation are not innately opposed or opposites. I think it's a false dichotomy and that saying one is innately better or more valid than the other just hurts artists.

You don't have to solely be happy creating simply for yourself. It doesn't have to be enough or all that propels you. You can desire acknowledgement, validation, and community. Whatever reason that propels you to create is enough because you're creating.

Nope now it’s at the point that i’m shocked that people off tt don’t know what’s going down. I have no reach but i’ll sum it up anyway.

SCOTUS is hearing on the constitutionality of the ban as tiktok and creators are arguing that it is a violation of our first amendment rights to free speech, freedom of the press and freedom to assemble.

SCOTUS: tiktok bad, big security concern because china bad!

Tiktok lawyers: if china is such a concern why are you singling us out? Why not SHEIN or temu which collect far more information and are less transparent with their users?

SCOTUS (out loud): well you see we don’t like how users are communicating with each other, it’s making them more anti-american and china could disseminate pro china propaganda (get it? They literally said they do not like how we Speak or how we Assemble. Independent journalists reach their audience on tt meaning they have Press they want to suppress)

Tiktok users: this is fucking bullshit i don’t want to lose this community what should we do? We don’t want to go to meta or x because they both lobbied congress to ban tiktok (free market capitalism amirite? Paying off your local congressmen to suppress the competition is totally what the free market is about) but nothing else is like TikTok

A few users: what about xiaohongshu? It’s the Chinese version of tiktok (not quite, douyin is the chinese tiktok but it’s primarily for younger users so xiaohongshu was chosen)

Tiktok as a community has chosen to collectively migrate TO a chinese owned app that is purely in Chinese out of utter spite and contempt for meta/x and the gov that is backing them.

My fyp is a mix of “i would rather mail memes to my friends than ever return to instagram reels” and “i will xerox my data to xi jinping myself i do not care i share my ss# with 5 other people anyway” and “im just getting ready for my day with my chinese made coffee maker and my Chinese made blowdryer and my chinese made clothing and listening to a podcast on my chinese made phone and get in my car running on chinese manufactured microchips but logging into a chinese social media? Too much for our gov!” etc.

So the government was scared that tiktok was creating a sense of class consciousness and tried to kill it but by doing so they sent us all to xiaohongshu. And now? Oh it’s adorable seeing this gov-manufactured divide be crossed in such a way.

This is adorable and so not what they were expecting. Im sure they were expecting a reluctant return to reels and shorts to fill the void but tiktokers said fuck that, we will forge connections across the world. Who you tell me is my enemy i will make my friend. That’s pretty damn cool.
